Sheet music for The Infernal Galop by French Romantic composer Jacques Offenbach. One of the most famous numbers from his opera Orpheus in the Underworld, it's also known by the name of the French dance it uses, the Can-Can. First performed in 1858, the opera, ostensibly a parody of the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, was in fact a veiled criticism of the French Emperor Napoleon III.
